George Hartshorn Hodges, born Orion, Wisconsin, Feb. 6, 1866. Moved with parents to Kansas in 1869. Educated at Olathe public schools. Married Ora May Murray of Olathe. Their two children were Georgia Ferree and Murray Hodges. George Hodges was a business partner in Hodges Bros. Building Materials, a Kansas senator 8 years, and Governor 1913-15. He also served on the staff of General Wood during World War I. Decorated by Albert of Belgium with Golden Cross for aid to Belgians. He died in 1947.
