Addison Bowen

Addison Bowen was born in Berkshire Co., Mass. July 11th, 1825; came to Kansas in ’58, enlisted as a private in Co. A., 10th Reg’t Kan. Vol. July 16th, ’61, — was discharged Aug 18th, ’64— ;married Mrs. M. A. Hill Oct. 4th, ’64--;was commissioned 1st. Lieut. 13th Reg’t Kan. State Militia, Oct. 10th, ’64 — ;was appointed P. M. at Olathe in Sept. ’66 — ;resigned the office in ’68 —; moved on his farm in Olathe Tp. In July; and was elected J.P. of Olathe Tp. In ‘71’ re-elected in ’73. He makes fruit growing a specialty, and will have over 500 bushels of apples in ’74. He is an industrious and good citizen.
